Ruth Shizue (Kihara) Nishijima, 70, of Hilo died April 30, 2013, at her son’s residence. Born Dec. 8, 1942, in Hakalau, she was a former caregiver.
Private services were held.
She is survived by son, Mark (Mandie-lee Nishijima-Rapozo) Nishijima of Hilo; daughters, Merle Nishijima and Leinani Nishijima, both of Hilo; sisters, Selina Brockmiller of Hilo, Florence McKenzie of Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
